This recipe comes from my mom. I don’t know where she got it from, but I’ve been eating them my whole life. These cookies are crispy when you first bite into them, but soft and chewy on the inside. Sweet and chocolaty, they’re great with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee.
Hershey’s Chocolate Crinkle Cookie Recipe
1 1/4 Cups of Margarine
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tsp of Vanilla
2 Cups of Flour
3/4 Cup of Hershey’s Cocoa Powder
1 tsp of Soda
Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8 to 9 minutes. Cookies are soft when they come out of the oven. Let cool a few minutes before transferring them from the pan.
Mmmm…can I come to your house for milk and cookies?!
Ooh, ooh! I love chocolate. Count me in. =)

Sounds Great!! Please count me in. 🙂 Thanks!
These are the cookies that my friend’s mother made, and they were my favorite. She wouldn’t give the recipe out for years since she sold the cookies. But finally I did a cookbook for our church, and at the last moment she submitted this recipe. Very begrudgingly–but she did. (I always wondered if she changed something). But I love these and make them for my children now. The secret is not to overbake them. When they are puffy and crinkled, they are ready to come out of the oven. And then they flatten out as they cool. I am careful to take them off the baking stone exactly one minute after they are out of the oven. I watch the clock on this one. My friend’s mother was so adamant about that! Thanks for posting this. I have just moved and haven’t unearthed my recipes yet, so I needed this1
Thanks so much! I lost this recipe – from the Hershey’s cocoa can – about 15 years ago and have been looking for it ever since. I bribe my late afternoon class with cookies: they will love these.
I am a student of Starr. These cookies are delicious. count me in:)
Im in LOVE with this recipe. It’s become a fast fav with my family. i would suggest to make sure that the baking sheet and the dough have time to chill before baking to make the cookies thicker. they come out DELICIOUS!! 🙂
