It’s strawberry time around here. I wait in anticipation of it all winter. We have a little strawberry patch in our garden, but it’s not large enough to produce more than a couple hand fulls at at time. So I bought a big box from a local grower.
I made freezer jam like I have in the past, and this year I also made canned jam. It’s a little extra work, but I actually think canning is kind of fun. I still had some berries left over when I was finished. About a month ago I tasted some strawberry bread at my local MOPS chapter meeting. Maybe I’ve been living in hole, but I’d never had strawberry bread before. It was delicious! So I went looking for a recipe. I found several, and didn’t know which to try. Then I came across one at Along the Daisy Path, a blog that happens to belong to a very dear and old friend of mine. So I made that one. Click here for the recipe. While you’re there check out the cute bags she’s been making.
So how much for the lot? 🙂
Say, I had some extra strawberries once and put them in my favorite Banana Bread Mix….so yummy….strawberry/banana bread! YUM! Yum! Try it sometime!
Your bread looks beautiful. I came across the strawberry bread recipe a couple years ago when i had a lot of leftover strawberries myself. I was plesantly surprised when i made it as well. I love your blog. and thanks for sharing the recipe.
