David told me this not too long ago when we were discussing the new arrival we’re expecting in June.
“You and Daddie are the boss of me. And when Baby Wade is born, I’ll be the boss of him.”
Oh, my. Wade isn’t ever here yet, and David is already pulling rank.
“Mommie and Daddie will be the boss of both of you David, and you don’t need to worry about what anyone else is doing other than yourself.”
Still, I think Wade is going to have to learn to hold his own pretty quickly around here.
My kids are fascinated by the order of who is in charge of who…poor little baby on the bottom of the totem pole…we don’t even have a dog for her to be in charge of…though, really she IS the one in charge! 🙂
Too funny. my DS never said anything like that before his sister was born, but he wasn’t quite 2 then. Now, at nearly 3, he is most certainly in love with bossing her.
Its fun watching them together, though, as she gets older and can push back a bit. He is almost insulted if she goes after something he sees as “his”.
And the funniest sibling thing of all, to me, is the baby toy phenomenon. DS wants nothing more than to play with the baby toys he wouldn’t touch before she was here, and DD refuses to play with same baby toys, and would rather play with DS’s trucks and trains. Highly amusing.
My youngest had to learn to be pretty tough with an older big brother. They have a big age difference, but still the older one plays rough and bosses him around too!
