I finally got a haircut, and boy did I need it!
I was so miserable while I was pregnant with Wade, then so tired from lack off sleep after he arrived, I didn’t much care that my hair was starting to look like more like a mane.
No really.
My hair is so thick, I can’t even tell you. And when it gets hot and humid it just poofs. I look like a pony ready for the show ring.
So today I got it all cut off.
And. It. Felt. So. Good.
Well, most of it. I kept some of my hair.
Though I have oft wondered how much simpler my life would be were I to go with the Sinead O’conner look. Talk about wash and go.
My stylist was great, and she didn’t bat an eyelash when I told her my sob story about morning sickness and sleepless babies. She just made my hair look cute.
It was so nice to sit in that chair and relax.
Doesn’t it feel good when they wash your hair? How do they do that? It makes me want to go to beauty school just so I can learn how to wash my own hair like that.
The stylist was all like, “Sorry it’s taking so long.” Because it does take forever to get through all the piles of my ridiculously dense hair. (Hence, I always tip well.) And I was all like, “Take all the time you need.” Because the longer I sat there the longer I was out of the house, and away from stinky diapers and a really loud four year old trying to strangle hug the dog.
So here’s a photo of the new “do”. ( Here’s a before picture where I look like I’m about to winnie.)
It looks better in person. I am just not photogenic. There are those people whom the camera loves, and then there is me. Granted this was taken after riding bikes around with David and jumping on the trampoline.
Now we’ll see what I can do with it by myself. I’m also hairstyling challenged.
And, oh, yeah. I swear my nose is five times bigger than it used to be. It got bigger when I was pregnant. All the books say that’s a myth. But I swear it did. The question is will it ever go back to it’s normal size?
It looks cute! Congrats on the haircut! I cut my hair every single time I had a kid except for this last time so far, but it has only been 2 months. I have extremely thick curly hair, so I totally know what your talking about when you say POOF!
Hi and hooray for a haircut! I SO know what you mean, I was thisclose today to getting mine chopped off so I could donate it and then the stylist at SuperCuts wasn’t in. Yes, SuperCuts, but hey, I’m picky that way! 😉 Congrats to you on your new ‘do!
Cute new look! There is nothing better than a good haircut, right? I wanted to let you know I’ve given you an award! Come by thetamom to collect. 😉
Love the new style!
I have long thick boring hair—I’m really considering copying your look. Not sure how it will look with glasses…
And I often had thoughts about shaving my head, most esp when I had a small child.
I have glasses too. I’m just vain and took them off for the picture. Anyway, it works with the glasses too.
Your hair looks great! I bet it feels a lot lighter. I hope to get mine chopped off in a couple more weeks.
love the new do. I just found your blog while searching for egg cheese and broccoli casserole recipe LOL.
Love your style of writing.
