David didn’t wake us up until after 7:30 this morning. He went to bed last night with a bit of a cold, and I think that’s why he slept so late.
Dave and Wade were under the weather also. But we made the best of our very snifflely Christmas anyway.
The first thing David did when he got up was get dressed. I don’t know why. Maybe he thought we wouldn’t let him open presents until his clothes were on. Normally getting David to dress is kind of a battle every morning.
David got everything on his list, and then a few other things.
I thought the best present we got David was a new digital camera. It’s the same model as mine only it’s newer, so it’s actually more mega pixels and has more features than mine.
My four year old has a nicer camera than I do now. I’m jealous.
I told him he has to let me borrow it.
You might think we’re crazy giving David such a sensitive electronic device. They make kid’s digital cameras, but the picture quality isn’t great. And they don’t cost much less then one we got David, since we got it at a great sale price.
David really likes to take pictures. I figured we might as well get him a camera that worked well. I had a long talk with him about taking good care of it. He has to learn sometime how to be careful with things, and make them last.
But David’s favorite present?
His Snuggie.
He’s wanted a Snuggie since they first started advertising them on TV last year. We got him one of the new kid’s size, and it even came with matching slipper socks. He wore it ALL day long.
This was Wade’s first Christmas of course.
Mostly he was just wanted to play with the wrapping paper. And I think he was a little stunned by all the excitement. He’s more reserved than David. Wade seems to get easily over-loaded if he’s around a lot of activity or new things.
We were supposed to go to my in-laws for lunch, but decided to stay home in the afternoon so all the sickies could take a nap. We headed to their house in the evening for dinner where the boys cashed in on some more Yuletide loot.
Christmas will finally end on Monday when my parents come to celebrate with us.
Then it’s on to David’s birthday January 10th. Hard to believe he’ll be five!
I’m so glad he got the snuggie he wanted! I am a little jealous of his camera too!
Monday?!
Awww- What a wonderful gift for him… a camera. I actually think you made the right choice. When we were going on our trip to Disney World last year I got our youngest son a digital camera for the same reason. Well, first I wanted to let my kids take their own pictures because I wanted to see Disney through my kids eyes also (This was everyone’s first trip and a huge Life dream for me & hubby since we never got to go as kids) I wanted them to be able to take pictures of anything and everything they wanted w/ no limitations and I wanted their pics to look nice- well, as nice as they could as an amateur photographer- LOL I looked at the kids cameras and for the same money could get him a better quality camera so that is what I did. Do not regret it at all- He was 7 then so a bit older than your little guy but he also took it as a sign of us accepting him getting older. It was a great gift to the start of our trip and I will cherish each and every picture my kids took. We are still putting their scrapbooks together… Eehmm – lol
Also love he got a Snuggie! I remember you posting about his obsession w/ As Seen on TV products- maybe it was a Tweet- but I remember that- LOL
Your guys look so cute! Thx for sharing!
Ah, thanks!
I saw on the forum, or maybe it was Twitter, that you had some questions about starting a blog. I’m no expert, but I’d be happy to help you out if I can. You can email me at david_colleen@mei.net
