It All Comes Out in the End

Posted on March 3, 2010March 3, 2017

“Mommie! Mommie! Hit my back! I swallowed a marble! Mommie!”

“What? You swallowed a marble? Hit your back? Are you choking? Wait, you’re not choking. Calm down. What happened?

“Hit my back! Get it out! I’m going to die!”

“You’re not choking. You won’t die…I don’t think…”

“Mommie! Why are you on the computer? I swallowed a marble!’

“I’m googling ‘My five year old swallowed a marble’. You’d be surprised how many entries there are for that.”

“Mommie! Just get it out!”

“I think you’ll be fine. I can’t get it out. You swallowed it.”

“I’m not going to die?”

“No.”

“Do I have to have surgery?”

“No.”

“How will I get it out?”

“How do you think?”

“Oh.”

Ah yes. Little boys swallowing odd things.

Good times! Unless he wants the marble back.

Will we ever find it? How will we know?
    Was it a valuable marble?

    LOL!

I couldn’t not stop by after your little comment on SITS.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was a little girl. LOL

Guess we will have to take him to the museum in Lima that we always took you to visit when you were a little girl. Do you remember the display that was from a doctor of all the things children had swallowed? You were always very interested in that display.

Poor thing! I guess he was worried! I hope he feels better now that he knows he’ll live!

That’s actually very heartening to know. My kids are mostly past the “let’s swallow strange things” stage, but … it does happen, I am fully aware. Hope it all “comes out okay”. (Couldn’t resist, Colleen.)
