Help! I’m Being Held Captive in My Own Backyard.

Posted on June 11, 2010

Oh, hi there.

You may not remember me, but I’m CeeGee, and I used to have a little thing called a blog.

I even had one or two readers, and once in awhile they would talk to me and leave comments.

Then this thing called Warm Weather happened. It’s kind of rare around here where it’s cold and cloudy for like 11 months out of the year. OK, it’s really more like six months.

At least I don’t live in Alaska, because I totally could not handle that six month of darkness, six months of sun thing.

Oh, my word. My kids would never go to sleep if the sun were up ALL day long, every day.

And the six months of darkness? Well, you might as well just give me a big ol’ pot o’ honey and call me a grizzly bear, because I would go into involuntary hibernation.

Anyway, since the weather is so nice, David wants to be outside ALLΒ  the time. Especially now that he has a new playmate right next door. And I take him out, because the kid only has about three months left of carefree days until he starts kindergarten in the fall.

I want him to enjoy these last weeks before enters a new world where he begins to learn what it is to actually have responsibilities.

All this time in the Great Outdoors is really cutting into my playtime blogging time.

I do have WIFI out there, but I’m skeered to take my laptop outside because it will end up:

1. Soaked with water from the wading pool.

2. Buried in sand from the sandbox.

3. Knocked off the patio table and smashed on the hard cement.

Or possibly all three at once.

So you’ll still see me around this summer, but it might not be as often.

I just wanted you to know I’m still here.

And hoping for a rainy day or two.

Colleen: I hope you don’t take too long between posts…some of us here in Australia are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the adventures of Mad Magnet and the Wade-a-nator.

Loving your attitude. Can you share some of it with me? I’m totally overwhelmed by summer vacation. I have 3 kids. The big kids are pretty good on their own, but they fight quite often and get bored easily. They toddler? Let’s just say terrible twos. How am I supposed to keep up? They outnumber me! πŸ™‚ But I’ll try to adopt your attitude and say that I’m thankful to be able to spend this time with them, because I truly am. Have an amazing summer!

I know! Everytime I try to take the laptop outside, I just can’t get to it at all! Maddening.

I so know what you mean…only for me it’s spring and fall because Summer in Texas is the time for HORRID HEAT you don’t want to go out in.

Anyways…I saw this a while ago and came back to share this:

Saw those the other day and thought they were so funny–they’re blog buttons about how not being able to blog because it’s summertime. πŸ™‚
