Yeah, so I went AWOL from the blog again this week.
It’s summer. It’s hot. I was outside.
I may be a bloggy slacker, but I’ve got a pretty sweet tan going on right now.
Haven’t you noticed? All those dedicated bloggers with the big traffic? They may make six figures with their affiliate ads, but they’re as pasty white as the cast members of Twilight.
(Seriously when did the exsanguinated look become sexy, anyway?)
So here’s what I would have blogged about if I hadn’t been lounging wading-poolside all week.
Monday
I was headed to the West Michigan Bloggers meeting, and very excited about going to my first one. But the mini-van broke down, and left me stranded just blocks from my destination.
Tuesday
We got the repair estimate for the van. It left me wishing for that six figure blogging income instead my tan. I spent the day trying to figure out how to grow money on trees. I guess I don’t have a green thumb.
Wednesday
I discovered that although Wade will not eat Cherrios like every other toddler in the world, he does like to snack on dog food. Also, grilling is really just a sneaky way to get men to make dinner so you don’t have to cook.
Thursday
I woke up to my husband, Griller-in-Chief, and my five year old watching golf at 7 a.m. I don’t know about you, but golf puts me to sleep. I drank an extra cup of coffee that morning.
Friday
Besides golf, David is also recently interested in dinosaurs. We were watching a documentary about them on Netflix, and I learned that dinosaurs and people really aren’t so different after all.
“The female Tyrannosaurus Rex is larger and more aggressive than the male. First he appeases her with a gift of food before beginning the mating ritual. Otherwise she will attack him.”
And that’s my Week in Review.

Do you think maybe that is where the tradition of a man offering a woman gifts comes from? Ha! Sounds like a fun week, other than the car breaking down and all.
