Whew! It’s Friday already? Friday is almost over? Where did the week go?
It feels like it’s been a million years since I was here. Really is was only Monday.
We’re busy trying to cram some fun into the last days of summer. September 7th David goes to Kindergarten, and Dave’s college classes start back up.
The days are already noticeably shorter with it getting dark earlier each night.
I think the thing I’ll miss most about summer is taking the boys outside after dinner. There’s just something about those warm summer nights, playing as the sun sets.
I was filling in the September calender, and realized suddenly my easy, unscheduled life is over. I haven’t had to get up, and be anywhere everyday for five and a half years. Now I’ll be getting David up, and off to school each day. I have to walk him to and from the bus stop, and Wade will have to tag along too. So my leisurely mornings of sipping coffee are over.
One thing taking up space on the Fall calendar is PeeWee Football. David had his first practice this week. I like football, and I’m excited about being a football mom. Not that you can really call what a bunch of five-year-olds do on the field football.
David is good at throwing the ball. And he’s a foot taller than most of the other five year olds. I do think he’s a little disappointed that it’s not tackle football though.
Wade is just Wade, our happy, little baby boy. He’s running around everywhere, starting to talk, and David recently discovered that Wade is a naive and willing participant in his mischief. More on that later, because that story deserves its own post.
I just finished a blog design for Roxane over at Days. (Go over and say hi.) That’s been keeping me busy too. I guess I’m officially a WAHM now.
Next week we’re ending summer with one last trip to the beach, and visit to the musical fountains in Grand Haven. David’s been begging us to go see them.
And that’s all the news from here.
I have to say, I’m not looking forward to the morning routine either. We can mourn the easy, coffee-sipping mornings together.
Summer coming to an end is so bittersweet. But…it’ll be back before we know it and we’ll probably be wishing the kids were back in school again.
I can’t wait to get the boys started in football and all that other good stuff.
And, BTW- you are one great blog designer! You should shout it from the rooftops. Thank you so very much. It has been a pleasure.
