The Eat Smart Digital Kitchen Scale is a great addition to any kitchen.
When it comes to eating right, portion control is probably the hardest thing for me. It’s really easy to load my plate up with too much. Even if I try to stick to a serving size, it’s difficult to eyeball how much is just enough.
I used my Eat Smart Scale to measure out portion sizes, and I was really surprised by the difference between what I thought was the right amount of food, and what it really was.
For example I used the scale to weigh some crackers:
This is the hand full I grabbed out of the box to begin with:
Nine crackers all together.
This is the actual serving size after I weighed them:
My original handful was almost twice the size of a serving. No wonder my pants aren’t getting any smaller! All those extra crackers go right to my hips.
It is kind of a pain to weigh out everything you eat, but if I can fit back into those clothes hanging in the back of my closet, it’s worth it. And the East Smart actually makes it pretty simple. It’s small, light and battery operated, so I can move it around anywhere in my kitchen. I can even take it to the dinner table with me. It weighs in grams, ounces, kilograms and pounds. Also, you can set the tare weight so you can weigh food on a plate or in a bowl.
The Eat Smart Digital Scale has other uses in the kitchen as well.
I often buy meat in bulk packages to save money. When I get it home, I repackage it for the freezer in smaller amounts for making meals. I used to just guess, but now I use my Eat Smart to divide it evenly into 1 lb. portions.
Sometimes recipes list ingredients in grams or ounces instead of cups and tablespoons. I had to convert the measurements before. Now I can just weigh out the ingredients with my East Smart.
The Eat Smart Digital Kitchen Scale is available at Amazon.com.

I NEED to use something like this… just ask my hips… they don’t lie… as you will soon see in person.
I’m not sure I have the discipline to actually use it but I should and maybe I would – or at least sometimes and every little bit helps, right? 🙂
Could my grammar get any worse? It’s seriously shameful that I homeschool… my poor children are doomed. 🙁

I would love to have this when I go back on Weight Watchers after the baby is born. Portion control is really what it is about and a good scale is key to that. I had a cheap scale that was terrible and I pitched it. This one looks like it could weigh chicken like a pro! 🙂

HA! I am pretty sure I just saw this scale on a episode of Thintervention where one of the women was weighing her dress to make sure she wore her lightest outfit! Certainly one way I could use this scale. hehehe

Oh yeah…portion control is my mortal enemy. I was SO SURE that a quart of ice cream was only one serving…turns out, I’m entirely wrong. Ridiculous. I’d love to win one of these so that the buttons stop popping off my pants.
You mean one box of crackers is not a portion?

This would be great for measuring cheese. My husband loves cheese on everything, so I melt shredded cheese on a lot of our dinners. I usually just pour straight out of the bag. I don’t even want to think about how many servings everyone ends up eating.

I have a Weight Watchers scale from 1996 and I still use it every day. I’m honestly still surprised from time to time when I see what a serving size actually looks like!

Would love to see proper sizes and help my eldest son who needs self control- he would measure out snack sizes he said if I got one so it would be cool to have- to help us learn a little more. I am at a great clothing size but I have these jeans from hs from 30 years ago I am almost in and it would be great to get into those- having. Not worried about weight because I see more muscle mass but still want and have alot of toning and getting in shape

I would typically use the scale to weigh portions of meat, fish and poultry since most of the liquids and dry goods I measure by the cup or teaspoon already.
I would use the Eat Smart Digital Scale to measure my portion sizes. 🙂
I would use it for dieting and also to make soap.
I would love to win this because I started my total body transformation in July of this year, and I have been counting my calories for the last 3+ weeks. I really need a digital scale like this because as you said, sometimes what you THINK is a serving is 3x a serving. lol. Thank you so much.
