Hey, Mom.
How are you doing?
Were you up rocking your precious, sobbing bundle at 3 a.m.?
Are you washing ANOTHER pile of bedding after yet ANOTHER potty training fail?
Do you wonder if you’re the only one who doesn’t like her kid sometimes?
Are you trying to figure out how you’re going to find the time to clean the bathroom, wash the dishes, drive the kids to practice, help with homework, make dinner, buy the groceries, volunteer at church, re-attach G.I. Joe’s arm, and get the stain out of the carpet? Today.
Are you wondering if the shouting match you had with your teenager this morning about the length of her skirt is going to scar her for life ?
It’s OK.
Really.
You don’t need to be perfect. You’re doing the best you can. And your best is different from my best, and everyone else’s best.
It’s OK if we do it differently. Your kid is different than mine. They all need different things.
And you’re never alone.
He’s there.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
I’m so glad because I’m having one of those days! Thank you.
@Hyacynth, Hang in there!
Aww, thank you for that.
Okay, so it’s not bad that my 3 year old isn’t potty trained at all yet?
@Nancy M., Yes, it’s OK. I think David was almost four before I left he house without an extra set of clothes for him. And he still has trouble at night sometimes. Some kids just take longer.
thanks! had a rough day with the munchkin! i needed to just take a step back and remember that. tomorrow is a new day (and maybe she’ll be over the post-immunization effects).
checking my email this morning and I get this post. You have no idea how much I needed it! Thank you!!
and to the previous commenter about potty training: 3 or 4 is not unusual. My 3rd was just shy of turning 3 when she gave up her stubborn fight and my son, at 5, still wears a pull up at night, wets heavy, can’t control it. She’s right, every kid is different and whatever your kid needs is fine!
Everyone needs to read this once a month.
God Bless mommas, we are not made of stone but bundles of to do lists and baby hugs.
