I Want Reese Witherspoon to Play Me in the Movie

Posted on April 21, 2011

I”m sick now too. Which means I can’t take care of us anymore. It’s been nice knowing you.

Seriously? What becomes of a family with small children when mom and dad have incapacitating stomach flu?

I feel like we’re in one of those apocalyptic movies where the human population is wiped out by some deadly virus. You see those scenes of empty, furnished apartments. They’re quarantined, wrapped in plastic and collecting dust. The occupants just vanished.

Only in those movies the houses are always clean. If we’re annihilated by this thing you’ll find our bodies lying in the ruins of dirty dishes, laundry and toys.

That will be my legacy.

A messy house.

When you come to take us off to the morgue make sure you spray the door with Lysol before you break it down.

Or IT will get you too.

Hope you feel better soon! I remember one Holiday everyone coming down the an awful, violent, retching virus – 3 hour intervals before the next one started wretching for 3 hours every 15 minutes – violently. By the time it got to me, I had already picked up a prescription for gel Phenergan that you rubbed into your wrists. The baby and me only wretched once and slept through it all! We were all a sad mess – as was the house. Sometimes you just gotta let the in-mates run it!

Oh no!! My house would be a total mess too. And smell like a sewer. I know that when just once of our kids gets sick, the house takes on the smell of sewer and death. I can’t imagine more than one at a time.

    Feel better soon!
