What’s More Annoying: Legos or Barbie Shoes

Posted on June 29, 2011

I’ve spent more than my fair share of time picking up Legos and pieces of train track.

I HATE toys that come in pieces. They get lost underneath the couch. They get scattered all over the house. They get stepped on when you get up at 3 a.m. to comfort a child who dreamed about a monster in his closet.

If only all toys came as solid, permanently fused masses.

But I have boys.

Little girls have toys that come in tiny pieces too.

So I have a question for you. What’s worse? Legos and Tinker Toys or Polly Pockets and ity-bity Barbie shoes?

What do you think?

Legos, on the grounds that the are painful to step on and more difficult to vacuum up.

That’s a tough one. Those Polly Pocket pieces are enough to make me toss the entire set in the trash.

I agree with Jen. Lagos are the worst because they hurt SO bad!

What’s annoying is the fact that my kids are now 12, 15, and 17 and no longer play with Legos and Barbies ;-(

I have boys and girls. I don’t think there is a difference at all. A small toy part is irritating, no matter what it is. What I hate is getting a cute toy and an hour later, all the little parts are scattered around and half of them have sunk to the abyss somewhere, never to be found again. Where do these things go?? The toy is missing half the parts and can’t be fully played with anymore. (I saw this post linked on twitter so thought I’d come over and check it out) Have a great day – and I love your header! lol

I’m a horrible, horrible mom and basically toss any non-essential little pieces (and my definition of “non-essential” is pretty broad). If it is small and won’t prevent the toy from working, then it’s likely to get tossed (or we somehow avoid buying anyhing with too many pieces. Thankfully, with my 3 year old girl, little shoes and clothing items aren’t missed since she strips her dolls down the second she gets them and they stay naked for a while.

And totally with the folks on the painful legos! Having grown up in a house where there was a lego obsessed boy, I am SO familiar with the pain of a lego smooshing into your foot!
