We had a heat wave here in Michigan last week. Temperatures were in the mid-90’s with wicked humidity. We decided to go to Full Blast Waterpark in Battle Creek to cool off.
They have waterslides outside as well as pool and splash area for small children.
There’s also one waterslide indoors as well as another splash area and a pool.
Full Blast is a great family-friendly waterpark. The boys loved it, and on a hot day I’d even go there without kids. I could sit and float in the pool all day. I love that it has the indoor section, (which is open in the winter by the way) because you can get out of the sun for awhile if you need too. Full Blast is also affordable. Admission for for ages three and up is just $9, and that gets you access to the entire waterpark all day. Kids two and under are free.
We worked up quite an appetite at the waterpark. When we go on these special day trips we always try to eat someplace new. So we headed to Captain Luey’s Calabash Seafood House.
We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere and yummy North Carolina-style seafood. The seafood was fresh, and the hush puppies tasted like homemade. Captain Luey’s got a thumbs up from all four of us.
We’re stay-cationing in West Michigan all summer long. Hey, it’s a nice place visit! When it’s not snowing. Come back and see where we go next week.
