FoundIt Gets Back the Stuff Your Kids (And You) Lose – Discount and Giveaway

Posted on August 16, 2011March 3, 2017

Well, the kids are back in school or will be soon. They’re walking out the door every
day with eyeglasses, backpacks, gym shoes, and band instruments. Older kids and college students might be taking expensive electronics with them like cell phones, e-tablets, laptops, and MP3 players. The question in the back of your mind is will they walk back in the door with the same stuff?

Things fall out of book bags. Kids leave backpacks laying on the bus seat or on the ground at the bus stop. They lose jackets they took off on the playground. They forget their camera at the restaurant they were hanging out at with their friends.

We lost three jackets, an umbrella and a few different toys last year, and that was just kindergarten.

It’s inevitable. Unless you chain everything to them, kids will lose stuff.

Now FoundIt can help you get your stuff back, and it’s really simple.

1. Sign up for an account at FoundIt.net. You can chose from a 1, 2 or 4 year membership. It’s really affordable with a four year membership costing just 24.95. When you sign up you get a FoundIt I.D. number, and you enter some basic contact information into your profile, like address and phone number.

2. In a few days you’ll receive a package from FoundIt with your FoundIt stickers printed with your ID number, and instructions for the finder. Some packages also include luggage tags and even pet ID tags. Put your stickers and tags on stuff you want back if it gets lost.

3. So your kids loses something. A nice person finds it, and most people are. They go online to FoundIt, and report the lost item. FoundIt contacts you immediately. You get your stuff back.

Pretty simple right?

Now kids aren’t the only ones who lose things. I put our FoundIt stickers on all our pricey electronics, including stuff that belongs to me and my husband. I would absolutely die if I lost my laptop or DSLR camera. I even put a bag tag on my purse, and a sticker on my husband’s wallet. A tag is going on my six year olds new backpack, and his coat and boots this winter. There’s a tag on the two year old’s diaper bag, and yes, I even tagged the dogs. I have some stickers left from the MacDaddy package FoundIt sent me to try out, and I’m sure I’ll find some more stuff to put them on.

FoundIt is one of those things you hope you never have to use, kind of like fire insurance, but having it does give you peace of mind. FoundIt definitely gets the Daze Buster Seal of Approval.

Now if FoundIt can just figure out how to help me locate all those missing socks…

    Thinking I should cover my kids with these stickers? If that doesn’t count for something I couldnt live with out, it would Definatly be my cell phone. It’s got all my things to do while I’m waiting for other people 😉

      @Sarah,
      LOL Sarah. My favorite response to our service so far has been, “Can I put it on my husband’s forehead?” I always ask, “Do you want him back?”
