We are a Hot Wheels house. David loves them. He keeps his Hot Wheels organized in a special case, and he won’t even think about playing with that other brand of toy car. So I could not turn down an offer to try out the new Hot Wheels Nitro Speed Racer.
The Nitro Speed Racer is pretty cool. It comes with a remote control that’s also a charger. You just put batteries in the remote, and plug the car into it. No electrical outlet needed. The car charges in under a half an hour. David’s only six, but he’s so used to seeing mom and dad plug in our computers and phones to charge that he had no problem figuring out how to plug the little car into it’s charger.
Once the car was charged he took it for a spin. David was able to operate the remote right away. He didn’t need any practice, and it was lots of fun. These little cars go really fast. David loved it.The charger can also act like a carrier for the car which makes this the perfect take anywhere toy.
There’s only one downside to the Hot Wheels Nitro Speed Racer. There are tiny little gears inside them that aren’t completely closed up. Once in awhile some fuzz from the carpet gets wrapped around the gears, and the car stops working. We have to pull the fuzz out with tweezers. To get to it we take the wheels and the top of the car off. Once we clean out the fuzz and put the car back together it works again.
