I don’t like to say goodbye to summer, but there are a few things I enjoy about fall. One of those it getting to pull my boots out of the closet. I live in boots in the winter like I live in flip-flops in the summer. Boots are little more fun than flip-flops though.
I’ve had quite a few pairs of boots over the years. My current collection includes four.
Two black, two brown. One with a low heal and one with a high heel in each color. I prefer the high-heeled boots because I’m short, and most of my jeans are too long to wear with flat shoes. High heels are no good for walking around the mall or carrying a toddler across on icy parking lot though. So I put the low heels on when I need something more practical.
My husband thinks I’m obsessed with purses, because I buy a new one very season. As any woman knows that’s not an obsession, it’s merely a necessity. But boots? That’s where my true obsession lies. My boot collection has the basics covered, so this year I want to add something a little more fun to it. I’ve been window shopping for boots since July.
2. These Mossimo Supply Co. Kagome Western Boots from Target are similar, and priced right at $29.99.
3. I’m also craving a pair of warm suede boots this season. These Marvin K. – Kenzie Aquatalia boots at Footnotes look toasty, and I like the fur trim. They have a rubber sole which is good for winter, but again they’re pricey at $395.00.
4. These suede and felt Weatherfield boots from Lands’ End are a good alternative. The toggle detail on them is a nice touch. Lands’s End footwear is always good quality. I know these water-resistant, insulated boots will keep my toes warm, and last me a few seasons. $89.95 is still a little pricey, but for these I’d be willing to splurge a bit. If I keep an eye on their website, I can probably get a deal when Lands’ End has one of its great sales.
There’s chill in the air this week, and I’m looking forward to wearing my boots.
