Beach Day Celebration with TCBY Frozen Yogurt

I think I’ve already established how much I love the beach. But just in case, I LOVE going to the beach. So do my boys. We really don’t need an excuse to go. Especially this summer. It’s so hot here!  We don’t ever need an excuse to eat ice cream either, but National Vanilla Ice Cream Day was coming up. What better way to celebrate it than with a day at the beach?

We took a picnic lunch with us. Now, I like to keep picnics as simple as possible, especially with kids in tow. No messing around with grilling on-site or even hassling with bringing silverware.

I headed to Walmart to pick up the summer picnic essentials: Fried chicken, potato chips, watermelon and soda. I also grabbed some disposable plates and cups.

We couldn’t celebrate National Vanilla Ice Cream Day without frozen treats. I picked up some of the New TCBY Frozen Novelties available at Walmart.

I went with the Classic Vanilla Ice Cream sandwiches and the Orange Vanilla bars.

The next day I packed up the cooler and we headed  to the beach.

Unfortunately our favorite beach was closed, so we went to a park with a small inland lake and — bonus – a splash pad!

We sat down for our picnic lunch as soon as we arrived, because I knew I’d never get the boys to sit back down once they started having fun.

The TCBY Frozen Yogurt treats were a big hit! Both the boys tried both kinds of ice cream. I figured it was OK to let them have both since we were celebrating National Vanilla Ice Cream Day.

After the picnic they burned off all the frozen yogurt playing at the beach and the splash pad.

TCBY Frozen Yogurt and a day at the beach are a perfect summer combination!
