(Stepping onto soapbox.)
People, your children will NOT die if they don’t get an iPad or a Play Station or a DSi or a Kindle Fire HD or a Leap Pad II or an expensive cell phone for Christmas!
They. Will. Not.
I promise.
Maybe you can’t afford it. Or maybe you just think it’s ridiculous to spend that much money. Or maybe you’re afraid that expensive, electronic device will get smashed to smithereens by Christmas night. Whatever your reason, if you don’t want to buy it for them, DON’T.
And don’t feel guilty about it.
They will not hate you forever. (If they’re teenagers they may hate you temporarily, but that’s normal, right?)
They will not run away from home.
They will not be ostracized by their WIFI/4G connected friends at school.
Your children will survive Christmas, even if you only spend 20 bucks on them.
This Christmas your kids only need two things, and the best part? They are absolutely FREE!
1. They need to know that you love them completely, unconditionally and always.
2. They need to know that Jesus is their Savior.
That’s it.
That’s all they need.
And neither of those things depreciates in value or is breakable.
Thank you for your time.
(Stepping off soapbox.)
Have a merry Christmas!
Good point! You are totally right! :)-Ashley
Agreed! We are trying so hard to keep Christ in Christmas at our house.
