I really enjoy baking, and the boys love to help me.
David and Wade both started making cookies with me when they were two. It’s such a great way to spend time doing something with them that we all enjoy, and they’re even learning a little bit about measurements and fractions.
There’s just one problem with baking with two little boys.
THE MESS.
I’ll never forget the time David turned the KitchenAid mixer on full blast when there was nothing but four cups of flour in the bowl. It looked like it snowed in the kitchen. Not exactly the white Christmas I was dreaming of.
Since it is Christmas time, I’m doing extra baking, making cookies and other special treats. Of course the boys want to help. Well, thanks to Nestle, I found a cookie recipe we could make together, and with no threat of flour flying across the room.
I’ve got a video for you of the boys and I making Chocolate Chip Cookie Sleds. Ever wonder what life is really like at my house? You’ll get a little glimpse at the antics and craziness I put up with here every day.
Did you notice I forgot to smile in the video? It’s hard to talk and remain in control of a can of frosting at the same time. And I was worried about what crazy stuff the boys were saying. I edited out the conversation about flatulence. You’re welcome.
So, our sleds are not master pieces. Here’s what they’re supposed to look like.
If you’d like the instructions for this sled you can find it at Nestle Seasonal Recipes, along with some other great and easy holiday baking ideas.

LOL! David and his dancing! That’s what I do too when the promise of goodies is in my future!
