The Summer Live Un-Project

summerliveLast Friday I talked about how this summer we’re going to enjoy it live as it happens.

Summer Live means relaxing, going with the flow, taking it slow. Leaving room from for spontaneous fun. Not scheduling every minute of the summer down to the last second. Enjoying simple pleasures.

And I want you to join me!

Summer Live is an Un-project because it’s about intentionally not planning too much. It’s about being present in the moment and discovering accidental fun.

We did that this weekend.

Bike rides. A trip to the ice cream shop. A visit to the park. A brother “sleepover” on the floor. S’mores over the fire pit in the backyard. Jumping on the trampoline as the sun set. Everyone had a big, relaxed, if tired, smile on Sunday night.

So come on! Let’s dip our toes, wade into the deep end, splash around and relish the warmth of the sun on our shoulders. Let’s pause to watch the dragon flies dance at dusk. Let’s linger at the park a little longer. Let’s throw open the windows and listen to the laughter of the neighborhood children playing.

Let’s enjoy summer live, as it happens.

I hope you’ll join me. I think it’s going to be great! Subscribe and follow along on Facebook to get ideas and encouragement for your own Summer Live Un-Project all season long. I can’t wait to see where we all go!

  1. You know I’m hyperventilating at the thought of not having everything structured and planned out, right down to the exact night we’ll do s’mores and camp out on the floor :).

  2. I totally agree with this! It kind of takes the fun out of summer if every moment is scheduled. I like doing some projects and activities, but it’s also fun to go with the flow.
