The Weirdest 80s Children’s Book You’ll Ever See

Posted on August 13, 2013August 15, 2013

If you were a kid in the 80s you know how weird they were — Garbage Pail Kids, Like Cola, Alf — I could go on and on.

There’s this children’s book from 1982 on Wade’s bookshelf. It was my husband’s when he was young.

ETCoverBecause what goes together better than E.T. and baby animals?

ETPage1It’s a board book for toddlers.

ET2Toddlers wouldn’t find a strange creature that looks like a monster at all frightening.

ET4

And why wouldn’t an extra-terrestrial play with a lion cub?ET3

It makes perfect sense, right?

ET5Look at E.T. frolicking with all those bear cubs! Isn’t it sweet?

ETPage6Maybe E.T. phoned home about his romp on the Savannah with a baby giraffe.

ETbackWell, at least the book is, “easy to wipe clean and non-toxic.”

I don’t believe it. Everything was toxic in the 80’s.

Lol. That is hilarious!! This reminded me how scared I was of E.T. when I was little. Definitely weird that they made a toddler book out of it.
