How to Make a Despicable Me Minion Costume

Posted on October 23, 2013February 25, 2017

A few weeks ago I showed you how I made goggles for my boys’ Despicable Me minion costumes for Halloween. This is a follow-up post now that I have all the other items I needed to complete the look.

Actually there isn’t a lot to it. The hardest part is making the goggles, which is actually pretty simple. Then you just need a yellow hoodie, a pair of overalls and some black felt to cut out the Gru logo.

I think we’ll add some black gloves to the ensemble and definitely some long underwear underneath since it will be freezing here in Michigan by October 31st.

Here’s a link to my instructions to make the minion goggles. And a quick Google image search for the Gru logo will give you something you can trace and cut out.

davidminion2David’s been home sick with a fever for four days. He loves the costume, and putting it on brought a smile to his face tonight.

If you want a couple other simple DIY Halloween costume ideas check my Duck Dynasty costume and Duct Tape Candy Corn costume.

Cute! I love a simple costume. Wish I had gone for simple this year, but the kid wanted to be a MInecraft Creeper. I was gluing squares for hours!
