If you have an old grill you can easily repurpose it into an inexpensive fire pit for your patio or backyard.
We had this grill still hanging around in our pole barn. We never got rid of it after Dave got a new one for Father’s Day a couple of years ago.
He took it all apart, leaving just the bowl of the grill. We had some old square cement blocks lying around too. They were perfect for the base. You could use regular cement blocks to achieve the same thing.
It looked alright, but we decided to dress it up a little bit some concrete bricks we found at Home Depot. It looks nicer, and it creates a better barrier between the fire and the kids.
A little black spray paint took care of the rust.
All together this DIY fire pit cost us about $27.00. It will get a lot of use this summer making S’mores.
