If you have someone on your Christmas list who loves spending time in Michigan’s great outdoors, a gift card from the Department of Natural Resources may be the perfect gift for them.
The DNR offers two types of gift cards. The first can be used to pay fees for camping sites at Michigan State Parks. Our family camps as often as we can in the summer and would definitely put this gift to good use. Boaters can also use the gift cards to pay boat slip fees at state operated harbors. This is a great way to give folks on your gift list some outdoor fun this summer. Avid campers and boaters would love a weekend in the woods or on the water.
E-gift cards can be purchased online and emailed directly to the recipient. Physical gift cards are available in person at any Michigan state park or harbor. Recipients can use the cards to pay fees online, over the phone or in person at the parks and harbors. You choose the gift card value, any amount between $5 and $5oo. The card’s value never expires.
The DNR also has E-license gift cards available. This is the gift for any hunters or fishermen on your list. They can apply the gift card balance toward any licenses they may need throughout the year. Purchase this for your angler at Christmas, and come this spring, he or she will have a little extra pocket change to buy more fishing gear. Is little Johnny getting his first bow for Christmas? Give him an E-license gift card to purchase his hunting license. This gift card can also be used to purchase snowmobile and ORV permits. E-license gift cards are available in denominations of $20, $50, or $100. They can only be purchased and redeemed online.
DNR gift cards are an easy gift solution for Michiganders who love to spend time outdoors. You can be sure this is one Christmas gift they won’t return this year!
